I got it in my head last week that there's gotta be better swimming in Salt Lake than paying to sit by a pool or chilling in the lazy river at Seven Peaks. so, we set out with a car full of snacks and towels and sunscreen and headed west to some neighborhood in Herriman. you just wind your way through a few streets and then suddenly there's this swimming pond right there between someone's house and the foothills. the sand was kinda sandy, the water only smelled faintly of pond, and the temperature was purrrfect. I'm into it.
even better than that place is Rockport State Park. holy moly. we drove past it nearly a hundred times when we lived in Hoytsville but never went cause it was frozen then. I'm so so glad we decided to go there. it's big, it's not super crowded, and dogs are allowed. all pluses. but what's the deal with people not throwing their trash away? I don't get it. but, it was still really great. we kept saying things like "I'm having fun. are you having fun?" and never wanting to leave.
^^my feet are the same color as the dirt, so that's cool.
